Game of Thrones: Idiotic Twitter Feminism of Thrones

Game of Thrones is about to end and boy I am so happy about it. I mean the writing’s gone utter garbage. Some dialogues are just cringe-worthy. It’s as if some of this shit was inspired by teen drama or some shit like that.

But I am not here to talk about bad writing.

Okay, I admit, after season 8 episode 3, I wanted to write about bad writing but didn’t have the time to do so.

Now, mood changes, We are only humans, We see new shit on interwebs to piss us off.

Look, R.R Martin wrote some powerful female characters. But, he wrote the female characters as people, as a fellow human being, with flaws. He didn’t let the ‘gurl power’ dictate his writing. First and foremost, he is a fantasy writer and his main goal is to write an epic fantasy.

He calls himself a feminist. His definition of feminism is probably vastly different from these twitter feminists though.

Also wouldn’t it be a fucking disservice to a female character if you made her powerful just because she was female without any merit?

Catelyn is believable as a mother, wife and this strong woman who has political knowledge. Cersi is believable as this cunning, cold, calculative, manipulative woman who loves her children. Arya is believable as this tomboy who does not want to be a lady. They fit the narrative perfectly.

Interviewer:

There’s one thing that’s interesting about your books. I noticed that you write women really well and really different. Where does that come from?

Martin:

You know I’ve always considered women to be people.

What in the Game of Thrones am I trying to get at?

In one of the episodes, Dany goes “We blah.. blah.. gurl power” to Sansa. Okay, I forgot what exactly she says but it was along the lines of despite being women, we achieved all this shit. Now that was a stupid dialogue to put on the show even if they wanted to show how Dany is trying to manipulate Sansa to support her with the “gurl power” bullshit. Like bitch, Catelyn Stark was strong af. Every woman on the series with enough screen time has been strong as fuck due to the writing the show used to borrow from.

I know with this bullshit they are trying to please all the “Modern Twitter Feminists”. It’s the showrunner’s way of “Hey, we know you guys were pissed when Sansa got raped but .. look how strong these girls are”.

And, it’s super fucking annoying.

Why?

Because “Show, don’t tell.” Don’t fucking tell me awesome these women are, fucking show me. And, the show has done it in the past over and over again but somehow seems like these fuckers can’t do it anymore without reference to borrow from.

What in the hell kind of bullshit is this?

Okay. Spoiler alert.

If you have not seen Season 8 episode 4, watch that first and come back.

But, still, there is no pleasing these first world privileged class of women either.

Don’t trust me?

I mean wut?

So, they should keep her around because she is a black woman?

Okay, the writing must be bad (and it is bad). But what is this reasoning at all? Also, this is the fucking last season. She can get plenty of other roles as an actress. And there are plenty other black female actresses such as Zoe Saldana ( Gamora from Guardian of the Galaxy) .. that are rocking it without you guys’ pity. Fuck off now.

If we’re making it about representation only then Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) is still in the show. Isn’t he?

Oh.. wait! But he is not a woman. Shit!
